Returns and refunds
LOST FRAMES BUREAU
RETURNS & REFUNDS POLICY
ARCHIVAL PLACEMENT DIVISION
Effective Date: August 28, 2026
The Lost Frames Bureau (“LFB”) issues Assets as limited archival objects through controlled civilian placement. Due to the limited nature of these releases, each placement is subject to the following return and refund procedures.
01 — GENERAL POLICY
All Bureau-issued Assets are inspected and documented prior to dispatch.
Because LFB releases are produced and allocated in limited quantities, all completed placements are considered final unless the Asset arrives damaged, defective, incorrect, or materially different from its published description.
Returns based solely on a change of mind, buyer's remorse, or failure to understand the specifications of an Asset may not be accepted.
02 — DAMAGED OR DEFECTIVE ASSETS
If an Asset arrives damaged or defective, the custodian must contact LFB within 7 days of confirmed delivery.
The Bureau may request:
- Order number
- Asset designation
- Photographs of the shipping container
- Photographs of the internal packaging
- Photographs or video documenting the condition of the Asset
- A description of the observed damage or defect
Do not discard the original packaging until the Bureau has completed its review.
Upon confirmation of shipping damage or a manufacturing defect, LFB may, at its discretion:
A. Provide a replacement Asset, when an equivalent Asset is available;
B. Provide a repair or restoration solution;
C. Provide a partial refund where appropriate; or
D. Issue a full refund.
Because Bureau Assets are issued in limited quantities, an identical replacement may not always be available.
03 — INCORRECT OR INCOMPLETE ORDERS
If you receive an Asset or Bureau artifact that does not correspond to your confirmed order, contact LFB within 7 days of delivery.
The Bureau will provide instructions for returning the incorrectly issued material and, where applicable, will arrange for the correct Asset to be dispatched.
LFB will cover reasonable return shipping costs resulting from an error made by the Bureau.
04 — CHANGE-OF-MIND RETURNS
Due to the limited quantity and archival nature of Bureau placements, change-of-mind returns are generally not accepted.
Once an Asset has been allocated to a civilian custodian, that placement may represent one of a fixed number of authorized specimens.
Customers should carefully review the Asset description, dimensions, edition information, and release terms before completing their placement.
05 — RETURN AUTHORIZATION
No Asset should be returned to the Bureau without prior authorization.
If a return is approved, LFB will provide return instructions and, where applicable, a return authorization number.
Unauthorized shipments may be refused or returned to the sender.
Returned Assets must include all original components, documentation, packaging, and Bureau-issued materials unless otherwise authorized.
06 — CONDITION OF RETURNED ASSETS
Any approved return must be received in substantially the same condition in which it was issued.
Assets that have been:
- Modified
- Painted
- Repaired by an unauthorized party
- Damaged after delivery
- Altered or customized
- Separated from original documentation or components
may not qualify for a refund or replacement.
For archival purposes, original packaging and documentation may be considered part of the issued Asset's provenance.
07 — REFUNDS
Once an approved return has been received and inspected, the Bureau will determine the applicable resolution.
Approved refunds will generally be issued to the original payment method.
Refund processing times may vary depending on the payment provider or financial institution.
Original shipping charges are generally non-refundable unless the return results from an error, defect, or damage attributable to LFB.
08 — LIMITED RELEASES & SOLD-OUT ASSETS
A returned limited-edition Asset does not automatically result in a new civilian placement opportunity.
If an Asset is returned after its original placement allocation has been exhausted, the Bureau may:
- Reissue the Asset to another custodian;
- Retain the Asset within the Bureau archive;
- Mark the specimen as returned and reclassified; or
- Determine another archival disposition.
Replacement availability is never guaranteed for sold-out or retired Assets.
09 — EXCHANGES
Direct exchanges are not guaranteed.
If an Asset is defective or damaged and an equivalent specimen is available, LFB may authorize an exchange at its discretion.
Requests to exchange an Asset solely for another design, edition, size, or Asset are generally treated as change-of-mind requests and may not be accepted.
10 — CANCELLATIONS
Orders may be cancelled only before the corresponding Asset enters the Bureau's preparation or dispatch process.
Once an Asset has been prepared, documented, or transferred to the carrier, cancellation may no longer be possible.
For pre-orders, cancellation terms may differ and will be stated on the applicable release page.
11 — RESERVATION OF REVIEW
Due to the unique and limited nature of Bureau-issued Assets, LFB reserves the right to review return and refund requests individually.
This policy does not limit any rights or remedies provided to consumers under applicable law.
Release-specific terms displayed at the time of placement may supersede portions of this general policy where expressly stated.
12 — CONTACT
For return, refund, damage, or replacement inquiries, contact the Lost Frames Bureau through the official Bureau contact channel.
Please provide your order number and Asset designation when submitting a request.
